CODING AUDITOR/EDUCATION SPECIALIST, REV CYCLE MED GROUP

About the role

The Professional Coding Auditor/Education Specialist role requires on-site presence at SGMC Health Main Campus. Remote work is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed audits to identify trends and discrepancies
• Prepare comprehensive reports
• Educate healthcare providers on documentation issues
• Clarify documentation issues
• Work collaboratively with revenue cycle teams
• Develop training materials
• Lead improvement projects
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Teams

Requirements

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
• Experience in professional coding education, compliance documentation, and/or auditing preferred
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT
• Experience in abstracting E/M and CPT codes
• Multispecialty/Complex coding experience
• Good communication skills
• Medical Office setting experience preferred
• Time management skills
• Demonstrates initiative to provide quality of services and improve efficiencies
