Job Title: Profee Physician/Coding Auditor and Educator
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $28 – $45 per hour
Location: Remote
Position Summary
As a Profee Physician/Coding Auditor and Educator, you will support healthcare organizations by auditing professional fee coding across multiple specialties while also providing education to physicians and coding teams. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, improving documentation accuracy, and supporting revenue cycle performance. You will work in complex healthcare environments, including large health systems and academic settings, while contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Hours per week: 40
- Audit multi-specialty professional fee charts for accuracy, compliance, and quality
- Provide education and feedback to physicians and coding staff to improve documentation and coding accuracy
- Analyze coding trends, denials, and audit findings to identify improvement opportunities
- Compile reports, track audit results, and create presentations for stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and organizational policies
Requirements
- Education
- Required: Relevant training in medical coding or healthcare field
- Licenses & Certifications
- Required: Certification through AHIMA or AAPC
- Skills
- Strong knowledge of professional fee coding and auditing practices
- Ability to educate physicians and coding teams effectively
- Experience with reporting, data analysis, and presentation development
- Strong communication and analytical skills in a remote, production-driven environment
- Additional Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of coding/auditing experience
- Experience working remotely
- Experience coding/auditing on the professional fee side for large academic or Level I trauma centers highly preferred
- Recent experience auditing multi-specialty professional fee charts for large health systems or medical groups
- Recent experience providing education to physicians and coders
- Experience with denials, complex specialty surgeries, and RHC / Critical Access preferred
- Experience with reporting, compiling data, and creating presentations required
