About the Role

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Coder in the Kaysville Business Office. This is a part-time position, Monday–Friday. The specific schedule will be determined at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain coding compliance for a multi-specialty clinic.
• Audit procedure and diagnostic codes for accuracy, detail, and comprehensive description of clinical procedures.
• Maintain current ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and coding skills.
• Use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email software.
• Interpret and apply Medicare (CCI) and payer edits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma required.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required.
• Coding experience preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong knowledge of computer and other office equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of billing practices and clinic policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of coding and clinic operating policies.
• Proficient skills in computer programs.
• Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret medical charts.
• Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with others.

Equipment Operated

• Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment

• Position is in a well-lighted office environment.
• Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, with walking or standing for the remainder.
