About the role
Student assistant supporting research in software engineering and data mining under the supervision of Dr. Rahman. The role involves a mix of software development, data mining, and academic research tasks.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, implement, and manage software programs
- Read and analyze research papers
- Analyze problems and generate solutions
- Browse GitHub repositories, collect data, and apply data mining and machine learning techniques as required
- Write and implement efficient scripts
- Determine operational practicality of solutions
- Develop quality assurance procedures
- Deploy software tools, processes, and metrics
- Maintain and upgrade existing systems
- Work closely with other developers and the supervising professor
- Present the outcomes of your experience at Celebrate Gannon and/or other college-determined venues
Requirements
- Currently enrolled graduate student
- Proficiency in C++, Java, and Python (Perl optional)
- Excellent writing skills in English
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, autonomous environment
- Strong critical thinking and professionalism in prioritizing and completing tasks
