About the role
SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve building plans and permits according to local building codes and regulations.
- Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
- Enforce zoning laws and regulations to ensure properties are developed in accordance with approved plans.
- Provide technical guidance to developers and contractors on building code requirements and best practices.
- Respond to public inquiries regarding building codes and zoning regulations.
- Keep abreast of changes in building codes and regulations and ensure compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or code enforcement.
- Knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Experience working with local government agencies and community stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills
- Proficient in using building inspection software.
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay
Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
