About the role
Selected candidate performs highly complex engineering in the area of architectural engineering including mechanical, electrical, structural, civil and/or technical work managing large, ongoing construction, maintenance and renovation projects for major building infrastructure systems. Primary emphasis on HVAC systems, electrical, and fire protection for the general services division.
Responsibilities
- Research, analyze and evaluate emerging technologies as applied to the design, construction, maintenance, operations and use of the building infrastructure.
- Manage all phases of multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, design, development and timely completion of capital projects in the assigned area.
- Oversee the development of project definition and scope; determine maximum cost effectiveness among alternatives; plan, maintain and adjust project schedules; determine the engineering and technical services needed and assure that all technical reviews are completed.
- Represent the division at public meetings, hearings or discussions with public officials or other state and federal agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
- Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in architecture or engineering, plus two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in commercial building project management in the area of assignment.
