About the role

We’re always looking for talented and passionate cooks to join our BOH family and accurately prepare the many dishes guests have come to know and love at Flanigan’s. Flanigan’s prides itself in made-from-scratch recipes, superior ingredients, generous portion sizes, and positive, high-energy kitchen vibes.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Prepare menu items according to Flanigan’s company recipe manual and plate presentation
• Ensure rotation of all products and stock products to par level to avoid kitchen disruption
• Complete assigned prep work to stock and set up stations as necessary
• Transport items to and from kitchen and assist vendor with unloading delivery trucks
• Clean and maintain kitchen area throughout shift
• Break down and clean all stations at closing

Physical demands

• Stand/walk 100% of shift
• Reach, bend, stoop
• Lift up to 50 lbs. several times per shift; lift heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers
• Hold items weighing up to 5 lbs. for long periods
• Work in high-temperature, damp indoor environment and minimally outdoors

Requirements

• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Ability to read recipes and food labels
• Ability to read POS ticket orders
• Communicate ticket times, execute food flow from kitchen to guests, and report potential issues to manager on duty
• Safely use kitchen machinery (Open Flame Grill, Stove, Slicer, etc.)
• Work safely with hot plates, pots, pans, sharp knives, and utensils
• Complete and pass food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes

Schedule

• Flexible shift schedule which may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Five-day work week with two consecutive days off
