About the role
- Provide proper recognition to Foundation Room Members, Live Nation Corporate Executives, and VIPs to instill appreciation for their membership and patronage.
- Maintain impeccable knowledge of upscale dining service steps.
- Demonstrate expert confidence in bottle and wine service.
- Upsell and offer food and beverage suggestions to guests.
- Possess extensive knowledge of culinary terms, methods, and upscale cuisine.
- Guide guests through their dining experience using expertise and recommendations.
- Execute flawlessly the standards and procedures of Bottle Service.
- Adapt vocabulary and socialize professionally with diverse audiences.
- Handle cash and Point of Sales (POS) systems.
- Manage intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner.
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs proactively.
- Suggestively sell beverages and menu items, take orders, and communicate drink orders to the bar via POS.
- Deliver drinks while maneuvering trays through large crowds.
- Maintain atmosphere control by circulating through the work area.
- Remove dirty glasses, dishes, and ashtrays from tables, including lifting/moving bus tubs up to 25 lbs.
- Keep tables and floors clean, including wiping spills and removing obstacles.
- Maintain House of Blues safety and sanitation standards.
- Follow housekeeping standards per HOB policy.
- Request identification from guests who appear under 30 years of age.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinances, alcohol awareness training, and HOB policies.
- Recognize and refuse service to intoxicated guests courteously while prioritizing safety.
- Process cash, credit card, and Travelers check transactions according to HOB policy.
- Handle comp and void checks per HOB policy.
- Assist other servers and staff as needed.
- Attend pre-shift meetings conducted by the Manager on Duty.
Requirements
- State or County Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience serving in an upscale dining and nightlife venue.
- Working knowledge of high-end restaurant operations and safe, responsible alcohol service.
- Ability to handle multiple tables efficiently with an upbeat, friendly attitude.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Flexible schedule, including late hours.
- Adherence to Dress and Appearance Guidelines.
- Working knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes, garnishes, and POS systems.
- Ability to interact positively with guests in a high-energy environment.
- 2 years of bottle service experience.
- 3 years of work experience interacting with people in a positive environment.
- Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Point of Sales (POS) system knowledge.
- Interest in wines, spirits, and mixology.
- Experience in nightlife environments.
- Cash handling experience.
- Experience recognizing valid IDs.
- Experience in a live music environment.
Physical Demands
