Cocktail Server - Aragon Ballroom

About the role

As part of the team at the Aragon Ballroom, you will anticipate and respond to guests’ needs, suggestively sell beverages and menu items, and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Responsibilities

• Take and communicate drink orders through the Point of Sales system
• Deliver drinks, maneuvering trays through large crowds
• Maintain line of sight and atmosphere control by circulating through the work area
• Remove dirty glasses, dishes, and bus tubs (up to 25 lbs.) from tables
• Keep tables clean and wipe spills; remove food, trash, or obstacles from the floor
• Follow Aragon Ballroom safety, sanitation, and housekeeping standards
• Request identification from guests who appear under 30 and ensure responsible alcohol service
• Recognize intoxicated guests and refuse further service in a courteous, safety-minded manner
• Process payments, credit card transactions, and comp/void checks according to policy
• Assist other servers and staff as needed

Requirements

• Working knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, drink recipes, and POS systems
• Ability to work late hours and maintain a flexible schedule
• 2+ years of experience interacting with people in a positive environment
• Ability to handle intoxicated guests safely and professionally
• Tolerance of diverse cultures, music, and art forms
• Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent (preferred)
• Experience in a live music environment (preferred)

• Up-selling and suggestive selling techniques
• Customer service and conflict resolution
• Physical stamina for prolonged standing and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Attention to detail in fast-paced, loud environments

Pay

Expected hourly pay: $15.90 – $17.05 USD, based on market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
