About the role

We are seeking a Cobol Software Development Engineering Tech Lead at Fiserv. This role involves analyzing business and technical procedures, developing detailed specifications, leading the development of complex applications, and translating business procedures into detailed technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze technical and business procedures and develop detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
• Develop, code, test, debug, maintain, modify, and install software, and recommend major changes to procedures and development activities.
• Lead development of complex applications based on technical and functional specifications while helping define and adhere to technical and functional standards.
• Research, define, and complete required additions and changes to financial software products, including analysis for compatibility with other systems.
• Participate in strategic planning and technical discussions, translating ideas into technical designs and supported solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience in enterprise environments.
• 5+ years of COBOL development experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing, testing, and supporting financial services software products.
• 1+ years of experience serving as a technical lead on application enhancements or new development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience translating business procedures into detailed technical specifications.
• 2+ years of experience contributing to technical standards or architecture decisions in complex environments.
• 2+ years of experience participating in strategic planning sessions or technical roadmap discussions.
