Coatings Process Operator

About the role

The Technical Operator will be responsible for the proper operation of High Temperature Vacuum CVD Reactors.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety practices.
• Assist with developing new and comprehensive operating instructions as well as safe practices.
• Work as a team to prepare reactors (clean, load/unload, troubleshoot, and develop fixtures).
• Prepare product (clean, hone, visual inspection, etc.).
• Work with hazardous chemicals using appropriate PPE.
• Monitor processes, record process parameters, note issues, and define corrective measures when necessary.
• Work with the team to define and develop operating parameters based on product type and configuration.
• Participate in improvement projects (process, quality, safety).
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Operate a lift truck.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment (minor electrical, computer interface, mechanical).
• Handle data acquisition and data entry.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with 2-5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Chemical Process Tech Degree or Certification may substitute for experience.
• Knowledge and experience handling hazardous chemicals.
• Understanding of problem-solving techniques.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Able to lift above head, bend, and climb (stairs/ladders).
• Good computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing, etc.).
