Coater Maintainer - 2nd / 3rd shift 8200 Broadwell Road
About the role
Set up and operate casting and coating machinery for efficient operation. Change coater rollers, adjust belts, gripper rolls, and micrometer settings. Instruct and coordinate activities of a stacker. Keep machinery operating efficiently by oiling, greasing, or painting. Perform other duties including replacing spoiled sheets, preparing load tickets, removing coated sheets from the oven, checking production orders, hammering out bent sheets, checking tin plate specifications, verifying counts, performing film weight checks, and preparing shift production reports.
Responsibilities
- Check and maintain proper over temperature control
- Maintain function of counter and verify count
- Check viscosity of coating at least every half-hour using Ford cup and pocket watch
- Replace spoiled sheets
- Prepare load tickets
- Remove a coated sheet from the oven at least every half-hour and compare with previously coated sheets
- Check at least two sheets per load for visual defects and check registration when necessary
- Sort and/or stack plate, when needed
- Operate bundle turner, when needed
- Perform film weight checks to Cincinnati quality specifications
Requirements
Previous experience operating manufacturing equipment efficiently required. Must be able to use a scale and margin guides. Availability to work 2nd or 3rd shift, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift, frequently lift 35 pounds or more, stand on feet long periods of time, and walk often. Use of hands and fingers to perform job function. Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb.
Qualifications
Ability to use feeler guages and perform other duties as described in the responsibilities section.
Skills
Knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation, quality control, and safety protocols.
