About the role

This position works in the Project Support Section of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA). The incumbent provides project support to the CPRA in its work pertaining to the state’s water and land resources and/or environment in order to ensure their protection, conservation, enhancement, restoration, operation, maintenance, rehabilitation, and monitoring. This position assists in managing programs funded by the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund, Capital Outlay, BP, and multiple federal sources of funding.

Responsibilities

  • Writing and reviewing Contracts and Amendments (Professional, Consulting, Interagency, etc.).

  • Completing associated request forms.

  • Entry of Contracts and Purchase Orders into the LaGov Procurement System.

  • Detailed audit of invoices.

  • Processing of Memorandums of Review comments from Louisiana Legislative Auditors.

  • May also assist with inventory and property management including but not limited to:

    • Assist upper-level staff.
    • Learn and understand Title 39.
    • Aid in procurement requests.
    • Aid in purchasing of supplies.
    • Aid in routine fleet maintenance.
    • Attend departmental and other state agency meetings and conferences to stay abreast of changes in departmental processes and state laws.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in an environmental program; OR

  • Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

  • A bachelor’s degree.

Pay

Below are the bi-weekly minimum hire rates established for the position in accordance with CPRA’s Special Entrance Rate Policy:

  • Coastal Resources Program Specialist 1: $1,672.80

  • Coastal Resources Program Specialist 2: $1,789.60

  • Coastal Resources Program Specialist 3: $1,915.20

The maximum salary for a CRPS 3 is $78,624 annually. This position is eligible for premium pay.
