Kimley-Horn is seeking a motivated Practice Leader to expand our Coastal Waterfront and Ports practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts, manage relationships with key clients, and oversee all project tasks while mentoring younger staff.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow the business.
- Pursue opportunities that align with professional passion and contribute to Kimley-Horn’s success.
- Grow and lead the Coastal and Waterfront Planning and Engineering practice.
- Operate with integrity and sound business principles.
- Provide vision, business planning, and strategy.
- Establish goals and build and maintain positive client relationships.
- Maintain open communication with partners and team members.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience managing coastal and waterfront projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in coastal engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Familiarity with marine and coastal engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
- Experience with regulatory and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills.
- Strong desire and ability to engage with clients to solve project problems.
- Ability to communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.
- Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
