Coach - MS Girls Basketball (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)

Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom. Your actions, behavior, and interactions with student-athletes should reflect this principle, promoting sportsmanship and fostering good character while ensuring the safety and welfare of all participants.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses, and at all times during the season.
• Exercise patience, tolerance, and diplomacy in relations with players, parents, co-workers, contest officials, and spectators.

Requirements

• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certificate (at employee's expense).
• NFHS Concussion certificate (Concussion in Sports Course).
• ATC Student-Athlete Health & Wellness certificate (must review PowerPoint and sign a document affirming review).
• Act on Facts Suicide Prevention Training OR NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention certificate.
• Current CPR w/AED certification (online classes not accepted; EMT license supersedes this requirement).
• Current First Aid certification (online classes not accepted; EMT license supersedes this requirement).
• Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must be available to work on Saturdays as needed.

Requirements Prior to Start Date

• Bloodborne pathogen training (provided after hire by TUSD Risk Management Department).
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Effective: 2026-2027 school year
Location: Hollinger K-8 School (Ajo & 6th Ave area)
Season Dates: 2nd Season (October into January)
Stipend: Prorated for days missed in the sports season due to late starts or early terminations.

This position is temporary and not eligible for district benefits.
