About the role
Powell Middle School is seeking a Middle School Cheerleading Coach to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cheerleading programs that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and positive character development.
- Ensure all practices and competitions adhere to safety guidelines and meet state and district regulations.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to provide a comprehensive educational experience for students.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and performance.
Requirements
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Florida Educator's Certificate in any subject (non-competitive cheerleading coaches may not be required).
- First aid training concepts, injury prevention, CPR.
- Willingness to devote time before and after school hours.
Qualifications
- Must have completed the Hernando County School District required 20 hour Sports First Aid course through Human Kinetics.

Benefits
Salary is paid in accordance with the Differentiated Pay for Additional Duty/Supplemental Salary Schedule in the Hernando County Teachers' Association (HCTA) Contract.
