About the role

Powell Middle School is seeking a Middle School Cheerleading Coach to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cheerleading programs that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and positive character development.
• Ensure all practices and competitions adhere to safety guidelines and meet state and district regulations.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to provide a comprehensive educational experience for students.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and performance.

Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Florida Educator's Certificate in any subject (non-competitive cheerleading coaches may not be required).
• First aid training concepts, injury prevention, CPR.
• Willingness to devote time before and after school hours.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the Hernando County School District required 20 hour Sports First Aid course through Human Kinetics.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.

Benefits

Salary is paid in accordance with the Differentiated Pay for Additional Duty/Supplemental Salary Schedule in the Hernando County Teachers' Association (HCTA) Contract.
