Coach - HS Soccer Assistant Boys

Prospect Ridge Academy seeks an Assistant Boys Soccer Coach to develop each student-athlete and work with students, parents, staff, and the broader school community toward the goals set forth in the Academy’s Mission Statement.

Responsibilities

• Follow policies established by the Prospect Ridge Academy Board of Directors, Adams 12 School District, and High School Athletic League, as well as the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA).
• Work directly with the Head Coach and Athletic Director to build a competitive soccer program.
• Organize preseason meetings with parents, coaches, and players.
• Supervise practices, games, and team trips.
• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training for individual and team success.
• Manage all equipment and uniform issuance, collection, and storage.
• Maintain positive public relations with media, Booster Club, and volunteers.
• Assist with parent and athlete communication and enforce athletic department policies.
• Update the Head Coach and Athletic Director regularly on issues, concerns, and highlights.
• Attend required meetings and submit all paperwork on time.
• Promote discipline, morale, and cooperation within the athletic program and school community.
• Collaborate with the School Nurse and Athletic Trainer.
• Complete postseason forms and other assigned duties.
• Provide instruction that fosters moral values, work ethic, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, leadership, and self-confidence.

Requirements

• Appropriate level of coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of soccer’s technical aspects and willingness to continue learning new coaching ideas.
• Commitment to Character Education and Positive Behavior System implementation.
• Ability to apply superb judgment and work collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and be self-motivated.

Skills

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as rules, policies, agreements, and assessment materials.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of staff, students, administrators, and parents.
• Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
• Ability to handle problems involving several variables in diverse situations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to physically demonstrate soccer skills.
• Frequent sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
• Required vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, grasping, and light lifting.
• Work is occasionally performed outside with exposure to extreme temperatures and loud noises.
• Work hours may occasionally be extended.

Pay

$3,030–$3,408 per season.
