$2,845 – $3,300 (based on verifiable previous paid coaching experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provides instruction to students in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of golf
  • Organizes and directs individual and small-group practice activities/exercises
  • Assesses students’ skills; monitors students during competition and practice
  • Determines game strategy
  • Follows established procedures in the event of an injury
  • Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct toward students, officials, and spectators
  • Supervises and maintains the equipment room in orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security
  • Distributes and collects equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students as directed by the head coach
  • Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times
  • Participates in special activities to include parents’ night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies
  • Performs support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records
  • Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum age of 19 years (per WIAA guidelines for assistant coaches)
  • Previous coaching experience preferred
  • Must complete SafeSchools and WIAA required training prior to the beginning of the season
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively with high school students, parents, coaches, and staff
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of District requirements and Board policies
  • Ability to work independently and communicate proactively

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, talk, or hear; occasionally walk and sit
  • Occasional bending or twisting at the neck more than average
  • May occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs
  • Directly responsible for the safety, well-being, or work output of other people
  • Requires close vision to read handwritten or typed material and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and staff
  • Some travel to other school district buildings as required

Work Environment

  • Moderate to loud noise levels
  • Work predominantly in athletic rooms and outside on athletic fields or golf courses
  • Exposure to normal climate and occasional adverse weather conditions
