Coach - Elementary Basketball (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)
About the Role
Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student-athletes. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants. Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses, and at all times during the season. Exercise patience, tolerance, and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials, and spectators. Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom, and as such, your actions, behavior, and interactions with student-athletes should reflect this.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during practices, games, and related activities
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all participants
- Maintain professional conduct with players, parents, co-workers, officials, and spectators
Requirements
- NFHS Concussion certificate (Concussion in Sports Course)
- NFHS Sportsmanship Certificate (Sportsmanship Course)
- Act on Facts Suicide Prevention Training OR NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention certificate (Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Course)
- Current CPR with AED certification (in-person classes only; EMT license supersedes this requirement)
- Current First Aid certification (in-person classes only; EMT license supersedes this requirement)
- Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Bloodborne pathogen training (provided after hire by TUSD Risk Management Department)
- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
Schedule
This position is for the 2026-2027 school year. Co-Ed Basketball season runs from November to January.
Pay
This is a supplemental hourly position.
Benefits
This position is temporary and not eligible for district benefits.
Location: Robins K-8 School - Sweetwater & Silverbell Area, Tucson Unified School District.
