Coach - Developmental Soccer Coach (K-5)
About the role
Codman Academy Charter Public School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Developmental Coach for K-5 Soccer. The coach will be responsible for introducing young students to the fundamentals of soccer, fostering teamwork, and promoting a love for physical activity. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to creating a positive and engaging environment for early learners.
Responsibilities
Coaching & Team Development
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate practices that focus on fundamental soccer skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Provide instruction in basic soccer techniques, coordination, and movement development.
- Foster a positive and encouraging team culture that emphasizes fun, learning, and personal growth.
- Ensure all student participants meet eligibility requirements and adhere to team expectations.
- Promote confidence, integrity, and respect among young athletes.
Administrative & Compliance
- Adhere to all Codman Academy policies and procedures.
- Manage and submit all required paperwork for participation, including team rosters and health records.
- Meet all deadlines set by Codman Academy Athletics for scheduling and participation requirements.
- Coordinate game schedules, transportation logistics, and necessary equipment for practices and games.
- Attend all required pre-season and post-season meetings organized by the Athletics Department.
Equipment & Safety
- Maintain and inventory soccer equipment and uniforms.
- Ensure a safe and respectful practice and game environment for all students.
- Monitor student well-being and development, communicating any concerns to school administrators.
Qualifications
Required
- Demonstrated knowledge of soccer fundamentals and experience working with young children.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
- Commitment to fostering a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Preferred
- Previous coaching experience in early childhood or elementary school sports.
- Experience in youth development and positive coaching techniques.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
Pay
Stipend: $1,500
