COACH COUNSELOR- Bilingual

About the role

Become a Youth Care Worker at The Oaks Academy, a secure post-adjudication facility providing comprehensive services to young women aged 13-17. We offer a supportive environment, rigorous education, and individualized therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth at a secure residential facility.
• Support the physical, personal, and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and skill development.
• Create a supportive atmosphere for youth’s needs; monitor and document behaviors and activities.
• Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test.
• Pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience working with youth in a residential setting is a plus.

Schedule

Rotating schedule – one long week (Monday, Tuesday, Half of Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday); one short week (Half of Wednesday and Thursday).

Shifts

12 hours - 7a-7p or 7p-7a.
