About the role
The role is dedicated to providing support and guidance to foster youth transitioning into adulthood. The position involves facilitating access to resources, advocating for their rights, and ensuring they have the necessary tools to navigate life independently.
Responsibilities
- Assist foster youth in accessing educational, health, and social services
- Advocate for foster youth’s rights and ensure their safety and well-being
- Support foster youth in developing life skills and preparing for independence
- Maintain regular communication with foster youth and their caseworkers
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experience working with foster youth or similar populations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Qualifications
- Experience with trauma-informed care
- Knowledge of foster care systems and policies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
