Ministerial Duties
- Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
- Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
- Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
- Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.
Ministry Advancement
- Utilize the platform of sports to disciple athletes, helping them grow both as competitors and followers of Christ.
- Lead or facilitate team Huddles, one-on-one mentoring opportunities, and FCA ministry events.
- Ensure that all team activities -- practices, games, and meetings -- integrate opportunities for spiritual and character development alongside athletic training.
Talent Advancement
- Ensure the recruiting, training, and developing of volunteers is strategically aligned with the goal of growing the ministry in the Club.
- Mentor and equip assistant coaches, volunteers, and athletes to become leaders who disciple others.
- Develop athletes not only in their sport but also in leadership, teamwork, and perseverance.
- Participate in personal and professional growth by engaging in coaching education opportunities and ongoing development within the FCA Club community.
Game & Player Development
- Plan and execute age-appropriate training sessions that focus on technical, tactical, and spiritual growth.
- Coach the team during games, making decisions that reflect FCA's core values and mission.
- Ensure equal respect, encouragement, and fair treatment for all athletes.
Communication & Administration
- Maintain open and consistent communication with athletes, parents, and FCA leadership regarding schedules, expectations, and team updates.
- Oversee team logistics, equipment, and facility use with excellence and accountability.
- Maintain necessary governing body qualifications and certifications required for coaching in the assigned league or program.
- Support FCA leadership by participating in organizational training, ministry development, and community engagement opportunities.
Competencies
- Strong Leadership and management skills.
- Demonstrated coaching experience with success in player and team development.
- Strong Knowledge of the sports fundamentals, rules, and stategies.
- Commitment to FCA's Statement of Faith, Mission, and Core Values.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor both athletes and assistant coaches.
- Must pass background check and comply with FCA's child safety protocols.
