Coach-Assistant High School -Wellington Middle/High School

SUMMARY

Aid the Head Coach in developing athletic skills and sportsmanship among student athletes in the sport. Support the athletic program by supervising practices and games, ensuring student safety, and adhering to CHSAA and Poudre School District guidelines.

JOB TASKS

• Assist with practice sessions to develop sport skills and sportsmanship.
• Supervise student athletes before, during, and after all school-sanctioned events; ensure their safety.
• Communicate with athletes and parents about practice schedules, games, and expectations, including academic performance, respect, commitment, dedication, and sportsmanship.
• Follow CHSAA and Poudre School District guidelines.
• Assist with inventory and security of equipment and supplies.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, locker-room supervision, and extra practices.
• Communicate discipline procedures, safety concerns, and all student injuries requiring emergency medical services to the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
• Demonstrate fairness and consistency in all decisions and judgments related to sport participants.
• Adhere to district guidelines for building use and field access, including following procedures for reservations, access, and care of district facilities.
• Arrive at work in a timely manner.

Education, Experience, And Licenses Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous coaching experience in the sport is strongly preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Valid Teaching License or Special Services License issued by Colorado Department of Education OR valid CHSSA Coach Certification.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required before coaching assignment begins.
