About the role
The Co-Packing Production Operator operates, cleans, inspects, lubricates, changes over and performs minor maintenance tasks on co-pack equipment. This role reports to the Co-Pack Operations Manager and is responsible for meeting production demands, maintaining a safe work environment, and producing a quality product.
Responsibilities
- Operates co-pack dry side and digital can printing equipment on a high-speed canning and printing lines
- Fulfills standard operating procedures (SOPs) and completes documentation via check sheets
- Performs routine inspections, basic troubleshooting, minor adjustments, light-duty maintenance of equipment
- Assists maintenance personnel with other repairs and preventative maintenance (PMs) when needed
- Cleans production areas, equipment, work areas, or other parts of the facility to maintain plant food sanitation standards
- Operates industrial equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts in order to unload, load, and/or transport packaging materials, raw materials and finished product
- Conducts quality control checks
- Communicates packaging and printing related information to other teams effectively
- Handles, prepares, and stages materials in accordance with all food safety protocols, Organic handling procedures, and inventory management practices and according to SOPs, recipes, and schedules
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications
- One year previous experience in a consumer-packaged goods manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams
- Understanding of how to use basic hand tools (Allen wrenches, screw drivers, sockets/wrenches, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and eye for package quality
- Ability to learn on-the-job
- Forklift Certification upon hire preferred
- Forklift Certification within 180 Days required
