About the Role

As a Supply Chain Optimization Intern, you will join the Demand and Inventory Planning (DIP) / Operational Planning (OP) North America team within the Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) organization. This internship offers the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a professional environment, supporting the Demand and Inventory Planning team by building and enhancing supply chain data analytics tools. You will collaborate with professionals in your field of study, contributing to projects that shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage Power BI, Python/R, and advanced analytics tools to visualize demand and inventory data in support of supply chain parameter changes.
  • Develop and improve data structures to enhance data accessibility, quality, and efficiency.
  • Enhance existing supply chain optimization models (total cost, forecast parameters) using Python/R.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Complete weekly writing assignments, such as brief summaries of learning experiences and project updates.
  • Prepare and deliver formal project presentations to peers, management, and senior leaders.
  • Receive verbal and written feedback on work performance throughout the internship, concluding with a formal written evaluation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field at an accredited school. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Interest in pursuing a professional career in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Completed at least 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with visualization tools (specifically Power BI) and programming (R/Python) is ideal.
  • Knowledge of supply chain concepts such as economic order quantity, safety stock, forecast errors and bias, and inventory health is preferred.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this internship is $17.00 - $46.00, determined by factors including geographic location, academic classification, and area of study. Pay equity and internal equity considerations are also part of the final offer.
