About the role

Working in a team environment, Simulator Support co-ops design and perform hardware and software modifications to Delta's fleet of flight training devices/simulators, ensuring training devices meet FAA requirements and pilot training needs.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Delta’s manager of simulator engineering.
  • Integrates software modifications into flight training devices/simulators to maintain commonality with Delta’s fleet of aircraft.
  • Designs hardware modifications of the training devices per simulator and aircraft manufacturers’ service bulletins.
  • Assists with acceptance testing of new flight training devices/simulators and with the annual FAA requalification of the devices.
  • Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled as an undergraduate (sophomore or above) with at least 30 semester hours completed.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA, able to maintain it throughout the co-op.
  • Must commit to 3 alternating semesters of work in Atlanta, GA:
    • Spring 2027 – 1st rotation
    • Fall 2027 – 2nd rotation
    • Summer 2028 – 3rd rotation
  • Cannot take courses (online or in-person) while working as a co-op, which may delay graduation by 1–2 semesters.
  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with software editing, code debugging, and revision control using various computer platforms and operating systems.
  • Strong technical, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • At least 18 years of age with authorization to work in the United States.
