About the role

Schaeffler’s Cooperative Education Program provides students with outstanding practical experience tailored to their interests and career aspirations. Responsibilities

• Support design tasks including calculation, simulation, CAD modeling, analysis, and component sizing
• Perform component or system-level mechanical testing
• Conduct component teardown analysis including physical teardown, inspection, pictures, and documentation
• Interface with cross-functional teams to complete assigned tasks
• Work independently, follow instructions, and take initiative
• Participate in developmental opportunities such as projects, job rotation, hands-on training, and exposure to Schaeffler’s technological processes

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA per semester
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve results
• Assertive problem-solving approach
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Capable of sitting at a workstation for extended periods and lifting/moving up to thirty pounds
• SAE collegiate competition team experience (e.g., Formula, Baja) preferred
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and related software preferred
• Mechanical hobbyist background preferred
