Role Overview

Support Delta’s Corporate Safety Team with safety promotion initiatives and day-to-day operational activities. Assist in building a strong safety culture through communication, presentations, organization, and data-driven insights. Gain hands-on experience in aviation safety programs, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid the Safety Promotion Manager with planning and executing safety campaigns, events, and initiatives
  • Create and maintain safety communications (emails, presentations, newsletters, and internal content)
  • Organize and track safety data, reports, and project materials
  • Prepare presentations and reports for leadership and internal teams
  • Conduct basic data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate meetings, take notes, and track action items
  • Maintain internal safety tools, documentation, and SharePoint or similar platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support safety-related projects

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution
  • At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale
  • Available to work on a full-time basis for 3 alternating semesters: Spring 2027, Fall 2027, and Summer 2028
  • This position requires the student to work for 3 alternating semesters. The student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op/Intern at the same time, which may delay graduation by 1-2 semesters
  • Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-op
  • Strong academic performance and interest in safety or operational excellence
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and must be flexible to unexpected changes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset
  • Working as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation. This position is intended to provide educational and professional work experience to prepare the student for the workforce
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • At least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Preferred majors in Safety, Aviation, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Interest in aviation or corporate safety practices
  • Experience with data visualization tools is a plus
