About the role

Creston Electronics is seeking a motivated student for a Platform / Full Stack Development Co-op position. The role supports the Crestron Spaces platform and involves contributing to backend services, APIs, and application logic.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to well-defined projects supporting the Crestron Spaces platform.
  • Aid in developing application logic and backend services using C# and .NET.
  • Support integration with REST APIs and external services.
  • Collaborate with engineers to deliver scalable and maintainable software solutions.
  • Participate in software testing, debugging, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in developing and executing unit tests.
  • Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and CI/CD activities.
  • Document technical findings and implementation details.
  • Learn about connected workplace platforms and system integrations.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States now and in the future.
  • Strong programming fundamentals and object-oriented programming knowledge.
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Coursework or project experience with C# and the .NET platform.
  • Familiarity with version control using Git.
  • Basic understanding of APIs and client-server architecture.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API development (preferred).
  • Exposure to databases (SQL or NoSQL) (preferred).
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming concepts (preferred).
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (preferred).
  • Interest in backend systems, cloud applications, or distributed systems (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
