About the Role

Sofidel America of Las Vegas Blvd is seeking a local candidate for a long-term Manufacturing (Paper Mill) Production Planner role in a stable environment with opportunities for growth. Sofidel America is a subsidiary of the Sofidel Group, a leading global manufacturer of paper for hygienic and domestic use, operating in 12 countries with over 6,500 employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate production and inventory plans to meet forecast needs.
• Work with the Material Planning Manager to create the machine production schedule.
• Schedule and reschedule production of finished products and sub-assemblies based on customer demand, safety stock requirements, forecasts, and production targets.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of material through the production cycle.
• Coordinate efficient material movement with purchasing, production, and engineering teams.
• Determine required materials purchases and approve the production plan.
• Improve trim efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance process efficiency through innovation.
• Collaborate with Converting Production Planning to maximize service to end-use clients.
• Support the parent reels sales office in client relationships regarding production plans, deliveries, and technical specifications.
• Work with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and other planners to develop production plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a similar technical field.
• 1-3 years’ experience in scheduling within a manufacturing environment; paper mills or paper industry experience preferred.
• Ability to evaluate large amounts of information and think innovatively.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task while balancing conflicting objectives.
• Proficiency in SAP and Excel.

Work Environment

• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in plant and warehouse areas, including safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests, and hairnets or hats.
• Exposure to varying temperatures, paper dust, and noise levels requiring hearing protection.
