CNN Editorial and Newsgathering Internships: ATL - Fall 2026

Responsibilities
- Hands-on work and mentorship from passionate, talented team members
- Journalism: Reporting and writing multiple news stories every week on deadlines and receiving a byline for those stories
- Research: Developing and breaking news stories
- Fact-check
- Log tapes
- Conduct interviews
- Pitch story ideas
- Write brief news copy
- Contribute to and write original stories for CNN Digital
- Independent research on topics/designated areas of interest for growth and audience engagement as directed by relevant members of the team
Qualifications & Experience
- Writing samples are required
- Curious mind
- Excellent communicator
- Attention to detail
- Research skills
- Digital literacy
- Keen understanding of how to spot and tell a great story
- An interest in writing for business, consumer, ecommerce, product reviews, lifestyle, science, or travel features
- Experience reading, evaluating and reporting on studies and data
- Basic understanding of cross-platform storytelling
- Experience working in a digital newsroom
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
- Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older)

- Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)
- A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
