Role Snapshot
About the role
You’ll set up, optimize, and maintain CNC and manual lathes to keep production running smoothly. You’ll troubleshoot, program optimization, and continually improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Review queue, confirm tooling and part fixturing, and calibrate CNC lathes (Mazaks, Nakamuras).
- Coach operators/tenders on best practices, record parameters in ERP, and solve machine issues.
- Partner with Setup Technicians and Engineering to refine programs and setups, trim changeover time, and elevate quality, safety, and throughput.
- Float between machines, oversee scrap documentation, and perform preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, execute setups, and guide operators on procedures, parts, and standards.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement to reduce setup time and elevate methods, quality, and safety.
- Collaborate with Setup Technicians and Engineering to optimize programs and machine performance.
- Maintain documentation, oversee scrap processes, and perform daily preventive maintenance.
- Follow safety protocols and keep work areas clean and organized.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma/GED or significant relevant experience.
- 5+ years operating CNC equipment across single- and multi-axis, single- and multi-turret platforms; experience with Mazaks, Doosans, INDEX, and Nakamuras.
- Proficient with micrometers, calipers, and gauges; adept with hand tools (drills, screwdrivers, impacts, etc.).
- Able to read/interpret blueprints and part schematics.
- Read/write proficiency, basic arithmetic, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience operating CNC equipment across single- and multi-axis, single- and multi-turret platforms; experience with Mazaks, Doosans, INDEX, and Nakamuras.
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and gauges; adept with hand tools (drills, screwdrivers, impacts, etc.).

Pay
The current hiring pay range for this position is $25–$37.50 per hour. This range is based on several factors including labor markets and, in some instances, education, work experience, knowledge, skills, and certifications.
Schedule
Full-time, 40+ hours per week. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, eight (8) hours per day. Occasional overtime, evening, and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
