CNC Swiss Setup Technician

About the role

Murphy Machine Products (MMP), a Delva Tool & Machine (DTM) company, is seeking a CNC Swiss Setup Technician for our Wood Dale, IL location. The position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate production of precision parts.

Responsibilities

• Setup CNC Swiss following SMED processes.
• STAR SR20RII, SR20RIII, SR20J, SR32J, SR38 and CITIZEN M32
• Troubleshoot machine and program issues.
• Update work instructions to current tooling.
• Produce and measure parts per blueprint following Quality Plans.
• Work with operators when handing off machine.
• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained, appropriate safety systems/processes are utilized, and ensure compliance with all OSHA and other state/federal safety and environmental related rules and regulations.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in CNC Swiss machine setup and operation.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine controls.
• Proficiency in using measuring instruments and quality control techniques.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to program CNC Swiss machines using CAM software (Park Maker).
• Able to operate a manual CMM.
• Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Pay and Schedule

The pay range for this role is between $26.00-$32.00/hr. depending on experience. The position works a schedule of Monday thru Thursday from 6:00am-4:30pm (OR) Monday thru Friday from 6:00am-2:30pm.
