Responsibilities
- Independently set up and operate Swiss CNC lathes.
- Enter, edit, and optimize G-code and M-code programs at the machine control.
- Perform complete machine setups including tooling, offsets, guide bushings, workholding, and first-piece approval.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
- Produce precision components to tolerances of ±0.0005"-0.001.
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical comparators, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues independently.
- Optimize cycle times, reduce scrap, and improve machining efficiency.
- Perform preventive maintenance, tool changes, and maintain a safe, organized work area.
- Train and mentor less experienced machinists as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Swiss CNC machining experience.
- Complete independence with CNC setup, programming edits, troubleshooting, and production.
- Experience with Swiss CNC lathes.
- Strong understanding of Fanuc controls, G-code, M-code, GD&T, and precision inspection.
- Experience with bar feeders, live tooling, sub-spindles, and guide bushings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to quality.
