About the company

We exist to make humanity more free. Technology has historically given people more time for the things they want to do, instead of things they have to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built—but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them—with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space and operate with extreme ownership, velocity, and a love of the game. We challenge assumptions, work with zero analogy thinking, and prioritize the best idea.

About the role

Own CNC and structural steel processing: beam lines, plate processing, saws, and drills running at takt. Program and optimize the machines: nesting, tooling, and cycle times that feed downstream without piles. Commission new steel processing equipment and prove it to rate. Own the tooling and preventive maintenance strategy so uptime holds through the ramp.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer CNC or steel processing operations in a structural or heavy fabrication environment.
  • Program beam lines or plate processing equipment.
  • Optimize nesting for material yield and understand the value of yield improvements.
  • Own equipment uptime and drive improvements with data.
  • Work collaboratively on the floor with operators.

Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC or steel processing operations in structural or heavy fabrication.
  • Proficiency programming beam lines or plate processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of nesting for material yield.
  • Experience owning equipment uptime and using data to drive improvements.
  • Bonus: Experience with Peddinghaus, Ficep, or Voortman platforms, CAM systems, Tekla interface, or cutting and drilling process depth.

Pay

Compensation range: $169,000 – $193,000.
