CNC Setup Operator Mills

Responsibilities

• Independently set up, operate, and program CNC machining centers.
• Produce complex precision‑machined components from setup through final operation.
• Set tooling, establish work offsets, verify programs, and make machining adjustments as needed.
• Inspect parts throughout the machining process using precision measuring equipment.
• Monitor cutting conditions and optimize machining performance.
• Machine a variety of materials, including specialty and exotic alloys.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain equipment and keep an organized, safe work area.
• Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and production to ensure quality and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Five or more years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience setting up and operating complex CNC machining centers.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Strong math and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical degree or apprenticeship in precision machining.
• Experience with low‑volume production and multiple job set‑ups.
• Experience machining high‑precision components.
• Ability to program and operate 5‑axis CNC equipment (a plus).
• Mastercam software experience (a plus).
