CNC Set-Up Technician III (first shift)

One of the most trusted and leading tier-1 automotive manufacturers in the United States is seeking a hands-on CNC Set-Up Technician/Operator with experienced-level manufacturing technical skills to support day-to-day production at one of Dynamic’s remanufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery work preparation.
• Set up, adjust, and operate basic and specialized machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, height stands, calipers).
• Machine parts to specifications using tools such as lathes and milling machines.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during machining processes.
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine fabrication methods and product dimensions.
• Diagnose machine malfunctions by observing and listening to operating machines; determine need for adjustments or repairs.
• Check workpieces to ensure proper lubrication and cooling.
• Position and fasten workpieces; operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
• Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
• Advise clients on materials used for finished products.
• Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
• Collaborate with engineering and cutting tool suppliers to improve tool life.
• Design and create basic fixtures and tooling.
• Operate one or more CNC machines daily while maintaining quality and safety requirements.
• Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized; assist team leaders and record production daily.
• Identify and isolate non-conforming product; properly and safely load/unload machines.
• Perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3+ years of machining and/or manufacturing experience.
• Basic blueprint reading skills.
• Programming skills, including basic machine shop courses.
• Deep hole drilling experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn quickly.
• Commitment to continuous improvement through self-education and company-sponsored training.
• Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8+ hours.
• Willing and able to work overtime and any shift as necessary.
• Communicate and understand work instructions both verbally and in writing in English.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and self-motivation.
