About the role

We are seeking a CNC Set-Up Operator to join our 2nd shift team in Sandusky. The role involves setting up and operating CNC and conventional equipment to produce high-quality components while ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Precision machine set-up and operating responsibilities.
  • Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet demand.
  • Sets up and operates CNC and other related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
  • Fulfills tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, and stamping to fabricate, form, or shape manufactured parts, tools, or parts assembly from raw materials.
  • Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
  • Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, and processing.
  • Tests and calibrates components and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
  • Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
  • Observes established safe working, housekeeping procedures and promptly corrects or notifies supervisor of any hazardous situations.
  • Performs all supplemental duties, responsibilities, or non-essential requirements as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma/GED or 2 years of experience required.
  • Between 1 – 3 years CNC set up experience or demonstrated proficiency.
  • Blueprint Reading.
  • Ability to produce a quality part at a productive rate.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

  • Ability to utilize mechanical/manufacturing standards of practice for both manufacturing and assembly of components to obtain a defect-free part for shipment to customers.
