PURPOSE
Use automated saw to cut parts to size and provide our customers with a high quality, defect free product.
Position Demands
- Maintain good attendance and a positive work attitude.
- Have knowledge and understanding of all safety guidelines and specific safety hazards associated with trimming.
- Have knowledge of and use all safety equipment required for saw operation.
- Read a tape rule.
- Understand how to read the production schedule.
- Know how to operate the automated saw.
- Need to know how to operate the vacuum lift rack.
- Be a properly trained and certified crane operator.
- Know how to operate a hand grinder.
- Know how to operate dust collector.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP
CNC Operator and helpers answer directly to the Line/Shift Supervisor and must also follow continuing instruction from individual(s) assigned to automated saw training.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Able to identify potential defects and comply with auto control program.
- Wear or use all personal protection equipment required for trimming.
- Proper inspection of crane and attachments.
- Read, understand and adhere to rules and guidelines stated in the company handbook.
- Cut parts to size with automated saw as per production list and or I.D. tag.
- Flip parts over onto conveyor.
- Aid final finish when necessary.
- Make sure that the dust collector is running when operating the saw.
- Monitor fullness of scrap hopper and dust collector hopper and alert utility person or forklift operator to have hoppers emptied.
- Keep saw and table clean and in good working order.
- Inspect blades, shrouds, and wire harnesses daily and report problems to supervisor.
- Help others with their job if needed, such as grinding.
- Keep the shop, shop floor and machinery clean and keep trashcans empty.
- May be assigned a designated area to keep clean.
ACCOUNTABILITY
- Improper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
- Improper inspection of crane and attachments.
- Parts cut wrong size.
- Parts damaged by rough handling/flipping.
- Damaged saw blades, machinery or tools.
- Overly full hoppers, dust piles left on floor (either can result in fire).
- Impeding the speed and or performance of the line.
- Any task not performed to quality and efficiency standards.
- Insubordination to the supervisor group leader or supervision in general.

PAY AND SCHEDULE
Starting pay $25.00 per hour plus shift differential.
