Position Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to machine custom and production components, including tools and fixtures.
- Accurately calculate dimensions and tolerances; perform layout and measurement of workpieces.
- Program, set up, and operate both manual and CNC machines for prototype and production runs.
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and production staff to improve machining methods and results.
- Inspect completed parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Adjust tooling and machine settings as necessary to meet complex design requirements and tight tolerances.
- Assist in identifying and resolving mechanical or operational issues with machines in coordination with maintenance personnel.
- Document machining procedures, inspection results, and production metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and support team members by sharing expertise and assisting with training.
What Makes You a Great Catch?
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a technical program or apprenticeship in CNC machining preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in both manual and CNC machining environments.
- Strong knowledge of machining practices, cutting tools, and working with various metals and plastics.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software systems.
- Proficient in CNC programming and knowledgeable in G-code.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to producing precise, high-quality work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
