About the role
General Plastics Manufacturing Company, a premier aerospace manufacturer in Tacoma, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their team. The ideal candidate has 10 years' experience in the industry, with at least 5 doing setup and 5 doing programming, and possesses strong Machinist skills with the ability to utilize Mastercam. Work involves Haas and CMS machines with Haas and Fanuc controls.
What you will do
- Write programs in Mastercam for complete parts including fixture, jigs, tools, and work-aids for any setups required
- Ability to operate all machines with minimal direction
- Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously
- Ability to edit CNC programs at the machine or with CAM programming
- Experience and familiarity with 3, 4, and 5 axis machines
- Review all engineering, work instructions and affiliated tooling for clarity and quality
- Work well with CNC team members
- Experience with set up and precision hand tools
- Demonstrated ability with completing work orders and meeting stringent customer timelines
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
Requirements
- Must have experience with aerospace components
- Minimum of 5 years of experience setting up with 3, 4, and 5 axis machines
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Programming using Mastercam
- Experienced with Haas and Fanuc
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Knowledgeable about CNC maintenance and all equipment capabilities
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Excellent print reading skills and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994, or later, standard
- Must be able to receive and interpret instructions and directions from supervisors and peers
- Must demonstrate good judgment to perform the job correctly and safely
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience machining plastics or composites strongly preferred

Schedule
Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay and benefits
- Pay starts between $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience
