About the role
We're looking for an experienced Lead CNC Programmer to join a growing manufacturing team specializing in precision machining and mold manufacturing. In this role, you'll be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment to produce high-quality precision components while supporting continuous improvement and maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
- Maintain production records and machining documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve machining processes.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Load tooling and raw materials, monitor machine performance, and make adjustments as needed.
- Solve machining challenges and take ownership of complex CNC projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or CNC machining certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with tight-tolerance precision components.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with G-code programming.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and dust.
