CNC Programmer

About the role

The CNC Programmer designs, develops, and proves out programs for 3-4 axis lathes and various machining centers. Responsibilities include setting up and operating machines, recommending and setting up tools, and troubleshooting issues with the DNC system.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and prove out programs for CNC machines
• Operate and set up machines as needed
• Recommend and set up tools and fixtures for new jobs
• Document procedures and train associates
• Troubleshoot DNC system issues
• Communicate with engineering and production departments
• Analyze and resolve complex problems related to CNC programming and tooling
• Train and check the work of associates

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in CNC programming
• Associate or technical school degree in CNC programming or equivalent
• Proficient in CAM software (GibbsCAM, MasterCAM, Partmaker)
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP applications (SAP preferred)
• Experience with G and M code editing, multi-axis functions, and live tooling machining
• Modeling software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word)
• Basic arithmetic skills
• Ability to analyze and solve unique problems
