About the role

Join our team as a CNC Machinist and advance our capability to develop new and innovative electric motor products. The CNC Programmer & Machinist is a core member of the R&D team, responsible for programming and operating the CNC mill and CNC lathe in the R&D machine shop. This role heavily contributes to achieving Key Performance Indicators for On-Time Delivery and Quality of prototype evaluation units. Strong execution skills are critical.

This opportunity is located in West Chester, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate HURCO TM6i 2-axis CNC turning center.
  • Program, set up, and operate HURCO VM5i 3-axis CNC machining center.
  • Inspect your own work using various inspection equipment to measure tight tolerances, including:
    • Height Stands
    • Micrometers
    • Calipers
    • Indicators
  • Grind and fabricate specialty tooling as required.
  • Sharpen tools as required.
  • Help troubleshoot machines as required.
  • Teach fundamentals in machine operation, set-up, and programming (as requested).
  • Measure and maintain quality and safety standards around the CNC machining area.
  • Keep records, maintain equipment, and manage supplies required to support CNC machines.
  • Keep and maintain records of parts machined on CNC machines.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-year machine tool diploma or degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years experience programming for CNC turning and/or machining centers.
  • 1 year experience with HURCO CNC machines.
