Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and inspect parts during the machining process.
  • Ensure the quality of parts being produced and achieve production standards.
  • Perform de-burring, polishing, and cleaning of parts at the machine.
  • Perform basic math calculations, including addition and subtraction of decimals.
  • Maintain dimensional tolerances between ±.0003”–.005” or greater.
  • Interpret basic dimensions on a print.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauge pins.
  • Maintain published parts-per-hour (PPH) production rates.
  • Operate a minimum of 1 bar feed lathe or mill, including performing secondary operations.
  • Maintain accurate part counts, fill out box tags, and update job/quantity trackers.
  • Report machining problems and seek assistance from supervisors or leads.
  • Follow documented operator procedures, such as inspection check sheets and posted operator notes.
  • Maintain a clean work area and observe all safety procedures.
  • Execute machine offsets and insert changes with direction from supervisors or leads.
  • Produce parts with less than a 2% scrap rate consistently.
  • Operate a variety of lathes and mills with routine supervision, including running a minimum of 2 bar feed lathes simultaneously.
  • Operate a variety of CNC lathes and mills with minimal supervision.
  • Run multiple jobs involving moderately complex parts.
  • Interpret dimensions on prints, including tolerance blocks, local notes, revision levels, and surface finishes.
  • Calculate non-referenced dimensions.
  • Operate lathe bar feed machines, hand load lathes, and most mills independently.
  • Execute machine offsets and insert changes without supervision.
  • Assess tool performance and make changes when appropriate.
  • Evaluate job performance and determine inefficiencies; consult with supervisors or technical departments on improvements.
  • Perform lower-level setup tasks with supervision.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of CNC functional and technical skills, controls, and instrumentation.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of prior experience operating CNC machinery required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing quality environment preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires walking, standing, bending, and lifting for long periods.
  • Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on a computer.

Pay

Compensation range: $20.50 – $27.51 per hour. The range is specific to the locations listed and reflects what FOX reasonably expects to pay, considering factors such as job-related knowledge, skillset, experience, education, training, certifications, and other relevant business and organizational factors.
