CNC Operator Trainee

About the role

The Dixon Group is seeking a CNC Operator Trainee to join their team at the Dixon Specialty Products Division in Chestertown, MD. This position offers hands-on training and the opportunity to work with advanced machinery, contributing to a supportive and safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hands-on training to learn CNC machine setup and operation.
• Produce metal components according to engineering specifications.
• Learn to identify and correct basic machining issues.
• Gain familiarity with Dixon’s product lines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with your team to ensure smooth and safe production processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training or related coursework preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to learn.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (training provided if needed).
• Comfort using hand tools and applying basic shop math.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the duration of your shift.

Pay

$18 - $20 per hour

Schedule

2nd Shift - 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday
