CNC Operator I
About the role
The CNC Operator I at Kurt Machining operates and adjusts semi-automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are provided, and setups are often made and maintained by others. This position is part of a team that provides precision CNC-machining services utilizing state-of-the-art manufacturing, quality, and automation technology.
Responsibilities
- Adjusts and operates semi-automatic CNC machines with minimum supervision
- Spot-checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications, using micrometers and precision dial gauges
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Currently authorized to work in the United States
- U.S. citizenship, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder)
- Reliable attendance is required
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Two years of related experience
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings

Pay
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $19.67 to $26.00. The exact rate may be based on a combination of factors, including knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.
Schedule
Second shift: 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM Monday - Thursday
Physical Demands
- Strength Level Rating: Medium work
- Frequent reaching, handling, pinching, turning, and working with hands
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and having near acuity with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less
- Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touch
- Hearing by perceiving the nature of sounds by ear
- Adjusting vision to bring objects into sharp focus
- Identifying and distinguishing colors
