How You will Do it
- Use various CNC equipment such as CNC lathes, milling and drilling machines, etc. to operate or fabricate components for final assembly.
- Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
- Mount, align and secure work holding, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Load parts and cycle machine to ensure optimal efficiency and conformance.
- Read, understand and edit G code programming.
- Measure and inspect part features per drawing to ensure conformance and detect defects using precision instruments using basic gaging and inspection tools (i.e. Dial Calipers, Gage Pins, Micrometers).
- Recognize and understand nonconformance.
- Record information or data describing work performed or defects found.
- Complete assigned work within given timeframe efficiently and according to specifications and complete all documentation.
- Cooperate with other employees in the department to maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including required PPE for the respective job being performed.
- Interpreting part of drawings and process instructions.
- Work to tight tolerances.
- Load and unload raw materials and equipment, and setting up and calibrating accessories.
- Monitor machines while assembling products, and making adjustments as needed.
- Perform quality checks before running the machines, and inspecting the finished product to ensure it meets specifications.
- Report any mechanical issues to your lead, supervisor, or maintenance department.
- Obtain and document work orders, and keeping detailed records for equipment and procedures.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
What We Look For
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years related experience.
- Technical school training a plus.
- 3+ years in manufacturing/aerospace a plus.
- Able to work flexible hours to support overtime requirements.
- Able to lift 10 pounds consistently without assistance, 50 pounds occasionally with assistance.
- Knowledge of general workshop tools and equipment pertaining to sheet metal and the aerospace industries.
- Must be able to understand and interpret technical drawings to military and aerospace specifications.
- Able to do basic shop math calculations.
- Maintain established standards of quality, productivity & attendance.
- Follow instruction and direction.
- Able to work in a high-volume production environment.
