CNC Operator - 2nd Shift

Our Quick Coupling Division in Grantsburg, WI is seeking CNC Operators to produce precision parts to print specifications. This role involves operating and maintaining CNC machines, reading blueprints and CAD/CAM programs, and ensuring consistent quality and productivity in a precision manufacturing environment. Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
• Use safety best practices, including wearing appropriate PPE, practicing Behavior Based Safety, and performing LOTO.
• Operate, set up, and adjust CNC lathes, including multiple spindle CNC lathes.
• Suggest improvements for standard or special tooling to suit materials or unusual cutting conditions.
• Perform operational sequence planning; install chucks and collets, set bar stock feed mechanisms and stops for operations such as facing, turning, drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, threading, and cutting off stock.
• Set tooling offsets, adjust computer control settings, install tool holders, and read/edit programs using PC/machine interfaces.
• Check parts for dimensional and finish conformance; correct deviations and notify leads of significant issues.
• Remove and reset tooling, adjust machines as needed, and ensure parts are produced with minimal burrs.
• Manually clean and deburr parts; handle specialty parts with care.
• Remove machined parts, bar ends, and turnings; separate recyclable turnings.
• Produce pilot pieces for first-piece verification and make adjustments to correct variances.
• Maintain statistical process control charting.
• Follow work instructions from drawings, engineering specifications, layouts, and other operating instructions; recommend improvements.
• Use standard, variable, and attribute gauging to check work.
• Keep tooling inventoried and organized in mini-cribs.
• Use ERR’s to notify engineering and management of items requiring review.
• Maintain proper oil and coolant levels; perform Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM).
• Participate in High Performance Team (HPT) and Continuous Improvement processes.
• Participate in Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) teams as required.
• Operate multi-spindle automatics, ISAMs, NoCAMS, and/or Hydromats if assigned.
• Ensure quality parts throughout the production run.

Physical Requirements

• Continuously lift and move very light weight material (1-5 lbs).
• Frequently lift and move average weight material (5-50 lbs).
• Occasionally lift and move heavy weight material up to 50+ lbs with assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of machining experience preferred.
• Ability to read complicated drawings, use shop mathematics, handbook formulas, and a variety of precision measuring instruments.
• Judgment to plan and execute the sequence of set-ups and operations for CNC lathes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Competent in the use of computers.
• Must have taken and passed Parker QCD Basic Shop Course.

Parker will provide training for qualified applicants.

Pay

• Starting Hourly Wage: $25.11
• Shift Pay: $2.00
• $1,500 Sign-On Bonus

Schedule

• Five (5) 8-hour days: Monday through Friday
• Shift: 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm
